Photo Upload & Personal Data Policy

This policy supplements the Privacy Policy and explains how we handle your photograph in plain language.

What you upload

You provide one photograph for the commissioned pet portrait. You may also supply the pet's name, frame choice and an adjustment request. Please upload only a photograph you are entitled to use. Avoid identifiable people, location details, documents or other unnecessary personal information in the frame.

How the photograph is used

The photograph is used only as needed to:

  • check whether the face and identifying details are suitable;
  • create your Editorial Gallery portrait;
  • check likeness and technical quality;
  • create and deliver a private proof;
  • apply the included simple adjustment where requested;
  • produce the approved artwork and physical order; and
  • resolve order, replacement, security or support issues.

It is not used for advertising, social media, a public portfolio or unrelated model training without your separate, specific and optional permission.

Automated processing and your control

Automated image tools help create and quality-check the portrait. You see a private proof before print, may request the included adjustment and can contact us for human support. Printing begins only after your approval.

Private storage and controlled access

Source photographs and derived image files are held in private storage. Access is limited to the systems and people needed to complete your order. Proofs are shared through a secure link, never a public gallery.

Necessary providers

Your photograph is shared only with the providers who help us create and print your portrait. Some of them are based outside the UK; transfers are protected by the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

Retention and deletion

We delete your original photograph and unused proofs 90 days after delivery. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time. Transaction records that must be kept for tax and accounting are retained without the image itself.

To request access, correction or deletion, contact us at contact@animelier.com. A request may be limited where information is still needed to fulfil your order or where the law requires retention.

Portfolio permission is separate

Buying a portrait or uploading a photograph is not consent to public use. Any portfolio, testimonial or marketing permission is separate, optional and can be withdrawn for future use.
